I wanted to reach out with an update on this incredibly fluid situation. There has been frequent communication with our provincial regulatory body to ensure that we are leading our team and office with the health and safety of our community as our highest priority.
As you are likely aware, the Government of Alberta has issued a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes mandates regarding closures and restrictions on non-essential businesses for some period of time. Health care facilities are exempt from this closure at this time. We are closely monitoring this situation on an hour by hour basis. Our goal is to serve our community in the safest possible way, while taking a load off the medical care system. These folks are preparing for the worst and need their resources marshaled and available. I for one, am incredibly grateful for our physicians, nurses and all allied health professionals willing to step into the breech.
We remain open, in accordance with the guidelines of the provincial government and our provincial regulatory body. Rest assured, all pandemic precautions around infection prevention and control have been implemented in our office. In fact, we have gone beyond the basic recommendations as you will see in the previous updates included in this email. I am including a short video to show you the differences you can expect if you do choose to come for a visit.
In accordance with the recommendations of Alberta Health Care we ask that if you are currently having symptoms or have been traveling out of the country you refrain from visiting. And please be sure to complete your 14 day self isolation period should you show any flu-like symptoms. Give us a call if you have questions about this.
